“Durbin was able to push through his amendment to the Dodd-Frank bill at the last moment, without congressional study or debate. It established interchange restrictions that will cost the consumer more to be able to use their debit cards and checking accounts. This will result in the retails reaping the benefits. Had there been time, Congress would have been aware that the new amended bill would financially impact the middle class and working poor.”
